Project Umang

Contribute in creating society

Project Umang

2010 marked NSVK’s advent towards working for child rights and safety in partnership with Childline, a Government of India initiative. Under project Umang we help children who are in need of care and protection, we protect them from physical, sexual & mental abuse, we rehabilitate homeless children and we help them to get enrolled in schools and colleges.

NSVK has also been instrumental in handling child trafficking cases, child labor cases, sexual abuse cases and child marriage cases.

Happy Project

Health Action Program for Progress of Youth, HAPPY Project is an initiative of Deepam Educational Society for Health (DESH) with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) as its knowledge partner. We have been identified as one among the six implementing partners for this project in Mumbai. A health movement, the project aims to prevent substance use/abuse of tobacco, alcohol and drugs among adolescents and youth. With a unique delivery model of training the teachers to train the peer educators and the peers, interventions around health awareness (at all levels- physical, mental and sexual), life skills and values facilitate in improving health and better coping strategies for the adolescents.

Identified and trained 1373 students as Youth Health Champions.
